Council Chamber British Section of the Paris Exhibition
THE COUNCIL CHAMBER, PARIS EXHIBITION. The Council Chamber of the British Section of the Paris Exhibition, is noted as, perhaps, the handsomest and most tastefully decorated in the whole building, was fitted up and furnished by Mr G Faulkner Armitage of this city, and Stamford House, Altrincham. A number large photographic views of the room which he completed are now on exhibition in Messrs. Agnews and Sons' art galleries, in this city, and they will be found of especial interest to art connoisseurs and those engaged the decorative arts, who have not had the opportunity of seeing the room in the Paris Exhibition, showing they do in all their details the exquisite designs, and the artistic arrangement of the furniture. They further prove that British handicraft, where it has free scope, can fully equal, if not excel, what has been done in the past.
