                    Also known as the Empire Theatre the Grand Theatre, Stockport Hippodrome, was originally built in 1869. The theatre was completely rebuilt in 1905 and re-modelled again in 1931 when it was converted to a cinema. After a major fire in 1960 the theatre closed down and most of the building was subsequently demolished, leaving only the facade standing. By 1968 this had also succumbed to demolition.
