                    This cottage was featured in an article by T Raffles Davison on Silverdale in The British Architect. It was commissioned in 1886 by Henry Boddington of Cove Hall, Silverdale, for one of his friends, Miss Mary Bowles, and is situated next to St John’s parish church, also designed by William Ball. A later tenant extended the entrance into a porch, covering up the sundial, and at some stage, it functioned as The Wayside Tea Rooms. It is currently privately owned. [RF]
