Carnegie Library and Town Hall Extension Birkdale

Mr J W Beaumont FRIBA of Manchester has made his award for the competition for the designs for the new Carnegie Library and Town Hall Extension at Birkdale, the total cost being £12,000. The first award is made to Mr George Brown, Birkdale and Manchester, who takes the ususal architect's commission on the building; second Mr T W Haigh, Birkdale and Liverpool, who gets £50; third Mr R Marmon, £30; and fourth Mr Henry Halsall, £20. There were twelve competitors.
