HOUSE AT TODMORDEN - This house was recently erected at Todmorden, by Mr. Jesse Horsfall, architect, as office and residence. The walls are faced with Yorkshire parpoints and local grit stone dressings; roof laid w1th Staffordshire tiles. “Burnlea” forms a non-matching pair with “Lindores.” House two and a half storey with basement. It appears to have been built after the latter. Lancashire vernacular cf Edgar Wood. Entrance on Adelaide Street. Tight site with small garden to Manchester Road front only. Drawing exhibited at Royal Academy 1898
