The building has been designed by Mr John Easton, architect, Ashton, and will take the form of a parallelogram, two stories in height. On each floor there will be a schoolroom 60 feet by 30 feet and two classrooms, each 15 feet square. The style of architecture is Early English. The land for the school was donated by the Earl of Stamford and Warrington and the cost of building donated by Robert Higgin, a man born in Ashton-under-Lyne but who had made his fortune in Australia.
