When the chapel was erected it was intended to have a clock and bells; but the funds being inadequate, a blank space for the clock face was closed with stone. .... Mr Richard Lane, the architect of the buildings has designed a neat small turret on the chapel for the reception of the bells, which is now in progress of erection by Mr Bellhouse, who erected the chapel and the sister institutions. The clock is to be furnished by Mr Richard Roberts, of the Globe Works, in this city. .... The three bells have been ordered from Messrs Mears, the celebrated manufactures of Whitechapel, London.
