Baptist Chapel, Pitt Street, Glodwick, Oldham
GLODWICK, OLDHAM - A new Baptist chapel, situate in Pitt-street, Glodwick, near Oldham, was opened on the 15th ult. The building is Queen Anne in style, and is built of brickwork with stone dressings. It is galleried round, and will comfortably seat 560. Attached to it are a lecture room, for week-night services, which will accommodate 80 members; two vestries, choir room, and the baptistery. The cost of the edifice has been £2,400 (not including the site). The fittings are of pitch pine, relieved with pine, and the gallery front is relieved by the introduction of turned spindles. Messrs. Wilder and Taylor, of Union-street, Oldham, are the architects, and the general contractor is Mr. Edward Stephenson [Building News 4 March 1887 page 337]
It would appear that this building was demolished and rebuilt in 1927. CHECK
