On Saturday a new Baptist Chapel in Beaver Park, Didsbury was opened by a dedicatory service. The present building consists of nave, transepts and chancel with provision for vestries and a school, yet to be erected. The design also includes a tower which can be added to the north-west corner and which will provide access to the end gallery. The accommodation on the ground floor is for 450 persons but for the present the nave alone will be used for services, accommodating 100. The architect is Mr A W Smith and the contractor J Gerrard and Sons, all of Manchester.[Building News 5 July 1901 Page 8]

The portion already opened consists of nave, transepts and chancel, the plans providing  for vestries,   school, and classrooms in addition. The design also includes a tower which can be added to give access to an end gallery when required. The style adopted is Gothic of the middle period, the walls being of Huncoat (Accrington) facing bricks with Ruabon terra cotta dressings and Yorkshire stone. The roof is Ruabon brindled tiles. Inside the woodwork is pitch pine, including an artistic roof and transept screen. A feature of the chancel is the handsome marble baptistry behind which is an oak communion table and a dark oak chair 150 years in use. The accommodation is for 450 persons on the ground  floor.
