Alterations, Dura Mill, Mills Street, Whitworth
Tomorrow (Saturday) the ceremony of naming the engines at the Dura Mill, Whitworth will be performed by Mrs Spencer, wife of William Specer, the chairman of the company. Just about a year ago a company was promoted under the title of the Dura Mill Company Limited to purchase one of the mills formally owned by Messrs John Hargraves and Sons, Bridge Mills, Whitworth, to carry on business as doublers. The capital was fixed at £20,000 divided into 40,00 shares of £5 each. …. Alterations to the mill to fit it for the new business were carried out to designs by Mr G. Stott, architect of Oldham and the mill has been filled with machinery by Messrs Asa Lees of Oldham. The engine makers are Messrs Scott and Hodgson of Guide Bridge.
