Alterations and decorations Lyceum Theatre London

Darbyshire had met Henry Irving when he spent five years in Manchester as a young actor at the Theatre Royal. They had played together in Hamlet at Bury in 1865 when Irving gave a farewell performance before his departure to London. Darbyshire and Irving remained friends throughout their lives.
