Bethesda Home for Crippled Children was another building belonging to the Manchester and Salford Boys’ and Girls’ Refuges and Homes Society. In 1927, Dunkerley, Taylor and Young were commissioned to build an extension comprising a Sunlight Annexe and a Sun Parlour. A letter from the architects, held at Manchester Archives and dated 3 March 1927, refers to an Isolation Block and Sun Room. Although the building still exists, it is now used for other purposes, and no photographs or plans exist to indicate where the extension was situated. [Richard Fletcher]
