New build

In 1877 Salomons and Wornum added a billiard room on the north-west corner and an elegant conservatory on the south side of the mansion for Philip Falk. The house was one of three designed by Charles Frederick Oldfield, a builder, between 1852 and 1855. Isaac Moses, the first tenant, moved into the house in 1855 and immediately appointed J.D. Hopkins to design two single-storey wings, neither of which appear to have been built. In 1856 Hopkins designed the two-bay, three storey extension. The building is now the Japanese embassy.
