William Lovell Mason
William Lovell Mason [Fellow 1896] of Ambleside who was killed in a motor cycling accident on 28 May 1915 in his 51st year, served his articles with Mr George H Bibby of Manchester and was afterwards an improver in the office of Mr Paul Ogden [F]. He began practice in partnership with his father in 1885 and was responsible for numerous residential buildings and business premises in Ambleside. He was manager for the Stock Ghyll Park Committee, surveyor of the Greenbank Estate and had carried out important sewage works for the Ambleside Local Board. He was a water colour artist of exceptional ability and was widely known as an expert in forestry. [RIBA Journal 26 June 1915 Page 42]
