Born 1869 at Leeds, Yorkshire William Horsley was the son of Francis Horsley, linen draper and silk mercer, later hotel proprietor and his wife Jane Ann Horsley. Trained as an architect, he commenced practice in partnership with Walter Cambell in Manchester in the early 1890s, a partnership which continued until his death. Elected an Associate of the Manchester Society of Architects. Principal works: Crown Theatre, Eccles and Theatre Royal Hyde

William Horsley died on 21 April 1901 at the Eccles Sanatorium, Eccles.
