William Henry George, the son of Thomas George and Caroline was born on 11 March 1854 at Ashton-under-Lyne. About 1890 he entered into partnership with his father under the style of T George and Son and continued the practice under the same name until about 1910 when he took is own sons into partnership under the style W H George and Sons. The practice was still active after World War 2. In 1910 he was elected LRIBA.
