Frederick John Atkinson
Frederick John Atkinson was born in Manchester in 1879, the son of John Henry Atkinson, brewer’s traveller and his wife Pollie of 14 Cheetham Street, Cheetham. He was articled to E J Thompson while attending Manchester College of Technology and Manchester School of Art. Elected Licentiate if the RIBA in 1910. Fellow of the Manchester Society of Architects. Works were chiefly domestic but also included Boams Model Dairy, Wheeler Street Sunday School and many ferro-concrete factories and public garages. He was a member of Ashton-on-Mersey Urban District Council and Chairman of the Highways Committee
