Enrico De Pierro was born in Montreal and educated at Montreal High School before attending McGill University where he graduated B.Arch in 1941.
After the Second World War he joined London County Council housing department headed by Leslie Martin before winning the competition for Poole Technical College in 1951. The following year he entered into partnership with Henry Elder (qv) to carry out the designs, and together they developed a general architectural practice with a special interest in schools and theatres.
In 1966 Enrico de Pierro won a second major competition, that for Corby Civic Centre.
