Designation
Architectural partnership
Formation
1864
Dissolved
1872

Following the death of Thomas Mainwaring Penson in 1864 Richard Kirke Penson, although supposedly retired, entered into partnership with Archibald Ritchie in Chester. Ritchie seems to have run the Chester office, in part to complete TM Penson’s outstanding commissions. However, several new commissions were also gained by the partnership before its dissolution on 31 December 1872. These included the National Schools at Brymbo and Christ Church, Ellesmere Port. Archibald Ritchie continued to practice on his own account following the ending of the partnership.
