One of the mills designed by Mr. Sidney Scott (sic), the Oldham architect, is to come up for auction at the Estate Exchange, Manchester, tomorrow. It is the Valley Mill, Rochdale. between Manchester Road and Queensway, about 10 miles from Manchester. It was built in 1906. During the war the cotton spinning machinery was taken out and the 120,000 square feet of floor space used for storage by the Admiralty. Although little of the spinning machinery is left, the mill still has power plant, a sprinkler system and boiler house. [Manchester Evening News - Monday 12 September 1949 page 12]
