Swedenborgian Church, John Street and Union Street, Haslingden
HASLINGDEN - The memorial stones of a new church and school for the Swedenborgians of Haslingden, near Accrington, were laid on Saturday. The schoolroom, which will be on the ground floor, will hold 350 persons, and over it will be the church, which is arranged to seat about 300. Mr. Arthur Hindle, Haslingden, is the architect, and the building, which is Early English in design, will cost £2,799. [Building News 16 May 1890 page 684]
OPENING OF A HASLINGDEN CHURCH - On Wednesday afternoon a new church, erected by the members of the New Jerusalem Church (Swedenborgian), at the corner of Union Street and John Street, was formally opened and dedicated for divine service. On the ground floor is a schoolroom capable of holding about 350 persons, and above it is the church. calculated to seat about 300. It is a handsome building and an ornament to the town. Mr. A. Hindle is the architect and Mr. Collinge was the contractor for all the work, sub-contracts being let to other townspeople. [Preston Herald - Saturday 5 September 1891 page 6]
