GROWTH OF PRIMITIVE METHODISM - On Monday memorial stones were laid of a new Primitive Methodist Chapel at Lymm (Cheshire) which is to cost £1,500. Mrs. Jones, wife of the Rev. Robert Jones, of Bury, laid one of the stones. Mrs. Jones is a native of Lymm, and her father, the late Mr. Thomason, was long a prominent official of the Primitive Methodist Connexion in that town until his death some years ago. A number of Primitive Methodists went to Lymm on Monday, and there was a very large attendance, the amount raised for the day being upwards of £200. The architect of the building is Mr. J. D. Mould. A chapel was first established in 1850. A new church was opened in 1898 next to the original chapel. In 1966 the chapel united with Lymm New Road (formerly Wesleyan) Chapel.
