The new building will stand side by side with the present chapel and will seat 900. The present erection will be used for school purposes. The contract has been sealed for £2,566. The architects are Messrs J. O. and S. J. Mould of Walthamstow, and their sketch of the front elevation promises a more elegant creation than some of the chapels which might be named. The front is ornamented by a clock tower surmounted by a campanile bearing a leaden roof and turret, Entrance is obtained through iron gates abutting on the pavement and two doorways, arched. PRIMITIVE METHODISM IN LUTON.  STONE LAYING AT HIGH TOWN - Fine weather favoured the High Town Primitive Methodists again on Monday, the occasion of laying of memorial stones for the new chapel on behalf of the Sunday school. The foundation stones of the building having recently been laid, the builders had advanced far enough with the work for these additional stones to be placed in a conspicuous position at some height from ground. Among those laying a stone was J D Mould He said that he had to do with a number of chapels but that this was the first occasion on which the body of trustees had invited him to lay a stone.
