MANCHESTER AND COUNTY BANK - The remainder of the Town Hall site was occupied by premises for the Manchester and County Banking Company Limited in a free Jacobean style with main frontages to the square and Queen Street. The bank occupied only part of the premises. Two shops were provided on Queen Street while the upper floors were used as offices. The bank entrance on the Queen Street facade has a doorway with decorated surround, oval fanlight and corniced canopy on large, moulded consoles. Ashlar, with slate roof and originally with a copper-clad dome. In free Jacobean style.
The bank later became part of the NatWest Group, but this has now closed.
