In consequence of subsidence which had taken place in the district the Anderton Arms had been badly affected such that no amount of repairs of alterations would bring the structure up to th required standards. The trade done amounted to 8.5 barrel and 15 dozen bottles a week thereby justifying the provision of reasonable accommodation. The proposed re-building would reduce the floor area by 228 square feet as compared with the area of the old house. The application for permission to rebuild the premises was granted.

Closed 10 September 2019. Planning permission granted on 23 September 2020 for conversion from a pub into four apartments.
