A stone-built nineteenth century public house, the walls since rendered over. Butterworth and Duncan are recorded as having carried out alteration in 1920 and again in 1932. The public house closed on 1 January 2010 and has subsequently been converted into a restaurant.

1920 - Messrs Butterworth and Duncan applied to the Rochdale County Magistrates on Wednesday for approval of plans of alterations to be carried out at the Dog and Partridge Inn. Whitworth. providing
